JOB SUMMARY:
Aero Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a motivated and meticulous Staff Accountant. In this versatile role, you will assist in the management of daily financial transactions, process weekly payroll, and support the company’s financial processes. Additionally, you'll assist with IT functions and device setups to ensure smooth operations across our systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Accounting:
  • Assists with general day-to-day financial tasks and projects.
  • Maintains organized and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Supports financial audits and provides necessary documentation.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Understands fully and serves as backup to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Prepares a variety of documents and reports, both standard and ad hoc, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support the business.
Payroll:
  • Processes accurate weekly payroll in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. (We will train the right person)
  • Prepares certified payroll and related reports.
  • Maintains comprehensive payroll records and prepares payroll reports.
  • Handles payroll-related inquiries and resolves issues promptly.
  • Ensures correct deductions and withholdings are applied.
  • Stays updated on payroll laws and regulations.
IT
  • Assists in the setup of software, hardware and devices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply) and 1 year of experience in similar role, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced excel skill.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discretion and proven ability to handle information confidentially.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of Sage 100 Contractor or other related accounting software.
  • Prior payroll experience a plus. Understanding of payroll regulations and certified payroll processing is helpful. Will train the right person.
  • Office Experience in the construction field.
  • Experience with BI/database intelligence a plus.
